Long time, no update!

Alright, so, I am appealing to my favorite LJers :D I need a new book to read. Here is what I have read in the past month:

The Hunger Games Trilogy, Suzanne Collins (A+)
Immortal Beloved, Cate Tiernan (C-)
The Girl Who Chased the Moon, Sarah Addison Allen (A-)
City of Fallen Angels, Cassandra Clare (B)

Any suggestions?

We stood so tall we caught a plane
by the wing and held it
Until we found it a place to land
We laid across the ocean wide
Bridged the gap in record time
The people traveled across and kissed our hands

All for love we become

Larger than lifesize, wondersome
Great in the eyes of someone
Larger than lifesize we become
Great in the eyes of someone

We smiled so bright the sun went down
Rose above the maddening crowd
We lit the streets with the sweetest glow
We held the globe and made it turn
Wandered through the universe
The men of science observed through telescopes

All for love, we become

Larger than lifesize, wondersome
Great in the eyes of someone
Larger than lifesize we become,
Great in the eyes of someone

Larger than lifesize we become
Larger than lifesize we become
Great in the eyes of someone

I've found that I am really starting to get burnt out writing in the Harry Potter fandom. I love the fandom, will always want to read the books, watch the movies and read the fanfic (and most likely write in the fandom in spurts), but I've been writing SOLELY Harry Potter for so long that it's really starting to lose its *shiny* in my head.

I'd like to find a "game" that is an original game set in a normal city without any kind of supernatural twist or any kind of special premise. Just characters living "real" lives in a real city. I don't want a celebrity RPG (because it's just weird for me, personally, to write a real person).

Does anyone know of anything that might interest me? I've been scouring RPG comms looking for something and the closest thing I've found is a mythology-based RPG set in southern California.

If there isn't anything, would anyone be interested in doing something like this? I already run a relatively large game in the Harry Potter fandom, so I wouldn't want to start another one. But maybe if there's enough interest we could do a group PSL? Just wondering if anyone else would find this fun or if it's just me... :P

I'm stealing lists from elle_blessing and leigh_adams because I tried typing in paragraphs and my brain is finding this to be a very difficult concept right now. Blame it on the 1.5 liters of wine I had last night D:

♫ My backspace key is not working. This is problematic.

♫ I graduated from college. \o/ I got a 99% on my Trig final and a 98% on my Capstone resulting in a 94% overall in both classes and then I passed Animation II with at least a C, I think. It feels so anticlimactic.

♫ Every time I log into gmail, it logs me out. I am unhappy with this turn of events.

♫ My friend Greg's phone keeps making noises and my aching head is not pleased.

♫ I felt so motivated to get internet related things done and now I feel like death. Dear head, how am I supposed to write humps and tags and character applications when you are insisting on post-teenage rebellion? Also, I am beginning to resent my computer screen.

♫ Fed Ex is fail. Never, ever sending packages across the country through them ever again. Also? I hate Utah.

♫ Guh bluh guh.

♫ I'll write more later when I feel coherent.

♫ Happy belated birthday to leigh_adams and once again to willfully!

I hardly ever never make personal updates on this journal, mostly because I intended to keep it strictly my collection of fanfiction. But now I'm kind of feeling like I want an outlet that isn't in the form of the friends I've got in real life and since this is my journal, I figure I'll dump my thoughts here.

cut because i don't assume my entire f-list really cares XDCollapse )

..welcome to the uprising..

It is the year 2000, the Wizarding World of Great Britain has been under the Dark Lord's rule for four years. The Golden-trio is no closer to solving the puzzle of victory than they were immediately following their beloved Headmaster's death. Muggleborns have been rounded up into camps or held in cells at Azkaban. Those under the spell of the Complacens potion remain content with the government, but there are those who are beginning to fight it. There are few that are beginning to build immunity to the potion and are assembling secretly underground.

Where will you be? Will you continue to live under the draconian rule of the Dark Lord?

Or will you be part of the Uprising?

Game begins with ten approved applications. In need of Minstry workers, Death Eaters, Severus Snape*, and Members of the Uprising!

Hi everyone!!

Come join lit_library

LITERATURE is a community where the common theme is a love for books and writing. Members are placed into one of four teams (the Romantics, the Victorians, the Moderns, and the Contemporaries) where they will work with their team members to collect points. Every few months a chapter of the community will close and the team with the highest points will be declared the winner of that chapter.

We are currently taking applications for membership, just go here to his post: http://community.livejournal.com/lit_admissions/profile

Sorry for the fic-spam the other day, guys. I finally got around to going through and posting everything where I've not had the time as of late. Coming up on my last quarter of school and picking up more hours of work while still trying to juggle a social life and living up to my duties as Maid of Honor in two of my best friends' wedding has pretty much gotten me away from journaling and writing and all of that fun stuff.

I owe a sincere apology to the mods at hp_rarities and hp_neverafter for my disappearing act. It was not intentional but no less excusable. I got bogged down and, as absent-minded as I am anyway, I forgot. My fault and I'm sorry!

But, I am back, for the most part. Looking forward to doing some more writing on hp_humpdrabbles and getting my hp_porninthesun submitted and then reading all the fics that get posted. Also looking forward to writing for hp_femsmut in the International Day of Femmeslash Challenge.

If anyone is interested in some roleplaying, I highly suggest taking a look on IJ at Gossip Witch, a post-DH compliant (EWE) Harry Potter game. It's really fun, active and one of the best games I have ever been in. Lots of characters open, so come look :)

Love to my f-list, sorry for being AWOL ♥♥
